Quarriers Glasgow Supported Living Service in Baillieston is a single service which supports a 39 year old man who has an acquired brain injury into the community.
This is an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to support the individual into the community to participate in an activity of his choosing. Going out on activities with the volunteer would also encourage confidence and higher self esteem for the individual and to provide respite for the individuals carer.The volunteer would support the individual to take part in an activity of their choice i.e. hill walking, snooker, bowling and encourage the individual to try new things and have new life experiences.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALITIES & EXPERIENCE:
Good people skills, patience and firm values.
WHERE & WHEN:
It would be great if the volunteer was available a few hours a few afternoons a week and would be able to commit to 6 months.
TRAINING & SUPPORT PROVIDED:
- Shadowing staff
- support and supervision
- Adult support and protection
- Acquired Brain Injury
The Individual has asked that has a male between the ages of 28 and 50 to support him.
MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT:
Aged between 28 and 50
Application process will be volunteer application form, meeting with staff and person supported, references and PVG disclosure.
Please note: You must be a driver and have your own car. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed.
