The kitchen is said to be the heart of a children’s hospice – could you be the exceptional Catering Team Leader we are looking for to nourish and support children, families and staff?

• Do you take pride in cooking to an outstanding standard?

• Can you inspire and lead your team of catering staff to create mouth-watering meals for children of all ages – as well as their mums and dads?

• Are you a motivational leader who can demonstrate strong team performance management skills?

• Do you have proven experience of managing a catering service?

If you can answer yes to these four questions then we want to hear from you!

This is an exciting time for our Hospices in Kinross and Balloch.  We are seeking two Catering Team Leaders - one will be based at Rachel House (Kinross - this vacancy) and one based at Robin House (Balloch). CHAS delivers the only hospice service of its kind in Scotland and these vacancies provide a unique opportunity to join us and to work in an organisation where everyone is passionate about the work we do.

Our catering teams and volunteers take enormous pride in the food and baking they provide for the children, families and staff at the Hospices, ensuring they meet the highest standards alongside creating a warm and welcoming environment. In order to be successful, you must have outstanding cooking skills and be able to lead by example in the kitchen.  You must have a Catering related qualification (HND Minimum) or equivalent, and ideally have an advanced food hygiene diploma. Being a member of REHIS would also be advantageous.

You should have appropriate working knowledge of HACCP, food allergens, food hygiene and health and safety within the workplace.  You should also have significant experience of preparing varied and nutritious meals to large numbers within a catering environment. Experience of working with Volunteers would also be an asset.
