Bandrum Nursing Home, one of the biggest homes in Scotland, provides specialist adult care and care for the elderly with 24 hour full time nursing care in our beautiful purpose built home, set in 19 acres of land. With 83 beds over two buildings the same complex, we have 6 units providing care for residents with a range of support needs.   

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of our Bank team, in the catering department of Bandrum Nursing Home.

Balancing first class food and hospitality within the needs of an excellent care environment, with its focus on individualised nutrition. Our Cooks demonstrate creative flair, nutritional understanding and leadership skills, combined with a genuine interest in the people we support. Highly valued and popular with residents, families and staff, our Kitchen staff are key personalities within our home.

As a Cook at Bandrum you are responsible for ensuring that all food not only looks and tastes delicious but also reflects each individual’s preferences and dietary requirements. This role is ideal for someone who has experience of working and cooking in a busy environment with the understanding of nutritional needs and allergies.

Experience Required

  • Experience of working in a kitchen environment, ideally within a care home environment.
  • Ideally knowledge of preparation and importance of fortified diets, soft and pureed meal options although full training will be given.
  • Food safety/hygiene certificate is essential
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Food Hygiene (Scotland) Regulations
  • Own transport is essential due to homes location
