The salary band for these posts is Band D, £32,340 to £37,285 - starting salary will be on the base of the salary scale, £32,340.
Information systems have never played a more important part in SEPA’s mission to protect and improve the Scottish environment. Across a variety of IS Projects, you’ll play a key role.
Joining our team, you’ll develop and implement a range of vital information systems and services that will support the achievement of our goals. Recognised as a source of significant specialist expertise, you’ll provide advice and guidance to end-users, and produce a range of reports and other key materials for both internal and external audiences

Qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject, to join us you’ll need detailed knowledge of software development and supporting technologies for system development and delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – from reports to presentations – are crucial.
SEPA uses the Oracle database management system, with interfaces developed through a range of technologies including Oracle Application Express (APEX).
Some training will be available to the successful applicant arising from needs identified within the staff appraisal and development programme.
• Oracle pl/sql, sql
• Application development in an Oracle environment.
• Database design
• Oracle’s rapid application development tool – Apex.
• Familiarity with .NET environment.
• XML, XMLDB
• Oracle Forms/Reports
• Oracle spatial query functions
• Development of applications for mobile devices.
