Starting salary from £24,298 - £28,143 per annum with further progression opportunities to £30,738
Bournemouth University is a vibrant and international institution and core to our vision is an excellent staff and student experience. The IT Service for the University has entered an exciting and challenging period as it undertakes a significant investment programme over the next five years.
We are looking for a Microsoft Windows Desktop Engineer to join the IT Services team at Bournemouth University. The role will be working primarily within the Faculty of Science and Technology, supporting the IT infrastructure and teaching environments, and ensuring a seamless student experience. You will be a pro-active problem solver, be highly organised with excellent customer service skills and have detailed knowledge of technological solutions.
Specifically, you will provide proactive customer support, understand the business requirements and application packages, inform future direction, support student and staff experience at all levels, and provide problem resolution to the highest standards.
You will have good Microsoft Windows 7 desktop support experience, as well as an excellent grounding in wider IT such as Apple Mac and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. You will also have outstanding organisational skills; you'll need a logical approach working on your own initiative with an ability to investigate and analyse problems.
If you are looking for a new challenge in a high achieving, service excellence focused, supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you.
