There is a vacancy to cover maternity leave for a Swimming Pool Lifeguard with a current Royal Lifesaving Saving Society NPLQ within the Arlington Baths Club, Glasgow, which may lead to permanent employment.
An extract of the Job Description follows:-
The successful candidate will work a 3 week rotational shift pattern averaging 38 hours per week, which will include evening and weekend working and will include one weekend off in three.
The club is open daily from 7.00am to 10.00pm, Monday to Friday; 8.00am to 7.00pm on a Saturday and 9.00am to 9.30pm on a Sunday, and the shift pattern will operate within these hours.
He or she will be a strong communicator; and an excellent team player with the ability to lead; be extremely observant with the ability to think quick and to anticipate problems; be able to stay calm under pressure; engage with people from all walks of life and have a positive attitude.
The main responsibilities of this post are:-
To supervise the security and safety of club members ensuring their enjoyment in all areas of the facility. In particular maintaining observation of the swimming pool and all users, applying water safety and the principles of early intervention and accident prevention.
To assist the club management in the preparation of club activities in a professional manner and to ensure a high quality of service is provided to club members and visitors.
To engage with all members in a friendly, respectful and enthusiastic manner.
To maintain the club and all its facilities to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times
To be a key holder and to open and close the club when required and assist in monitoring the security of the premises at all times.
To respond to any out of hours key holding requirements, if necessary.
To attend programmed monthly Swimming Pool Lifeguard training sessions to ensure ongoing personal development and compliance with the requirements of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
To perform Pool Water Tests daily in accordance with the pool's operating procedures and record findings. Take necessary action to ensure that the water tests readings are as per guidelines.
To assist with the operation of the club's laundry and to ensure that all daily laundry requirements are kept up to date.
To be responsible for ensuring personal health and safety by following safe systems of work and by meeting the requirements of the club's Health and Safety Policy.
