About Smart Energy GB

We are the independent organisation, created by government, tasked with engaging the nation in the smart meter roll-out and driving adoption in every single British home over the next five years. Smart meter technology will utterly transform the way we consume energy and pave the way to a smarter, more energy efficient future. We will be developing one of the biggest and most complex campaigns in a generation that will be helping every person across the country grasp this opportunity to take control of the energy they are using and what they are spending. Our campaign must:

Raise awareness of smart meters, build consumer confidence and enthusiasm for them;

Transform public opinion on an almost unknown technology into a technology that is commonplace, and used by all;

Enlighten consumers on how this small piece of technology is an essential gateway into a power shift in the way we purchase goods and services;

Help consumers to use this new technology to reduce their energy consumption.
