Eden Scott's client is looking to hire a Procurement Specialist to sit within the Purchasing Team at their Edinburgh office. This role has a global reach, so previous experience of working with suppliers and colleagues internationally is beneficial.


The Procurement Specialist will be required to review purchase requests for completeness and compliance with company requirements along with taking responsibility for procurement business system data input and integrity; creating and maintaining supplier database information, error report analysis and part number/supplier code information in an ERP system.

The successful candidate will also be required to coordinate purchasing activities with engineering and planning departments to acquire inventory, provide analytical and application support for the Procurement function sites globally and follow procurement guidelines to monitor, measure, improve, analyse and implement Procurement processes and client requirements in completing assignments.

Other duties include

  • Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
  • Activities related to the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for internal company
  • SAP Operations (Tactical, Ongoing Maintenance and Clean-Up Efforts and Streamlining Efforts)
  • Assist others in buying, developing specifications, or selecting source
  • Monitors costs/expenses and negotiates with suppliers on cost, quality and delivery terms


A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration) with experience of determining and implementing solutions regarding distribution of business, negotiation or commodity strategy, supplier management, source of supply, etc is required.

The successful candidate must be able to excel under limited supervisor and hold the ability to influence the integration of sourcing guidelines, relative to assigned commodity group, into the client's business requirements.

A Background of actively managing external suppliers to deliver improved benefits and prior procurement experience in SAP ECC 6.0 or above is also required - along with Advanced level excel skills.
