We currently have an opportunity available for a support worker (nights) to join our established team in Quarriers Village providing individualised support services to a number of people with complex learning disabilities living in a group home. Merrybrook is situated within the heart of Quarriers Village at Bridge of Weir. These services aim to provide a homely, safe and nurturing environment for people with disabilities to live.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual. You will be resilient with strong self-awareness and excellent people skills with a commitment to a person centred approach. Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and complex support needs is desirable. However, a willingness to learn the necessary skills is essential as specific training will be provided during your planned induction to the service.

Duties will include; direct physical assistance, emotional support, advice and encouragement in all areas of peoples' life from housework to medication, responding to their needs for physical health and emotional well-being. This includes the promotion of their relationships with family, friends and external agencies to maximise their potential to lead a full and active life.
Due to the nature of this service, this post is female only, and is exempt under Section 9(2)(b) of the Employment (Sex Discrimination) Act 2000.

Due lack of public transport to the village in the evenings and at weekends, it is essential that candidates have access to their own transport.

Successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC. Where you are employed in a service where registration is compulsory, you must ensure that you register in the appropriate category within 6 months of starting in post. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified within 3 years
