Do you have a passion to work with young people experiencing homelessness?
Would you like to be part of an established team that make a real difference to the lives of young people?
Quarriers James Shields project provides supported accommodation for 37 young single homeless people aged 16-25 offering a high level of support for young people who need emergency accommodation. Young people often experience major difficulties in addition to their housing needs. These can include drug addiction, alcohol misuse, mental health problems, offending behaviour or severe emotional and psychological issues. Some also have a history of abuse.
We are looking for compassionate and non-judgemental individuals with strong emotional resilience and a high tolerance and understanding of behaviours. Candidates will have the ability to recognise the individual’s needs and remain highly motivated and calm in all situations. You will understand that every step forward or backwards for the young people we support can be a step in the right direction and that you are part of each other’s journey.
Successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC. Where you are employed in a service where registration is compulsory, you must ensure that you register in the appropriate category within 6 months of starting in post. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified within 3 years.
Please note IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.
