Service Details

Wallace Court is a residential and respite service in Elderslie, Johnstone, providing 24 hour support 7 days a week, to customers aged between 18 and 65 with physical and learning disabilities.

Job Role and Responsibilities

We are currently looking to recruit Support Workers to work as part of a team providing a safe, caring environment for customers with disabilities.  You will also provide personal care (including intimate care), and support service users with aspects of their general welfare. You will also be required to undertake a key-working role and assist the Team Leader to maximise customer outcomes. The role will involve health related practices including mealtime assistance, gastrostomy feeding, administration of medication as and when required and lone working.

You must be able and willing to work flexible shifts which include weekends, evenings, and nightshifts including sleepovers.

A full driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role. Capability Scotland is willing to consider alternative arrangements that achieve the same outcomes for those candidates that have a disability which prevents them from having a driving licence.

Experience/qualifications/key skills required:

Experience of working in a similar role and environment is essential as is a willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities. You should have a care related SVQ Level 3, or the willingness to gain this qualification in a given timescale. You should possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
