Job Description

You will provide an effective Social Work Service to vulnerable adults, children and their families in line with Council policy and national standards.

Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.33 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.


Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.

A Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent) is essential, as is registration with the Scottish Social Services Council together with an accredited post-qualifying training award.


You will undertake professional supervision of qualified social workers within the Social Work Contact Centre and carry a small caseload of children and families cases where required.

You will also oversee the development of thorough and informed assessments of cases in order to provide logical and coherently presented recommendations for further action designed to enable children to remain with their birth families wherever this is in their best interests.
