Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity. We help Scotland’s families to put children first, with practical advice and with support in difficult times. And when the worst happens, we support survivors of abuse, neglect, and other traumatic events in childhood, to recover.
Under arrangements made by The Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011, Children 1st has been contracted by Scottish Government to assist Scottish Ministers with the management and operation of the national Safeguarders Panel.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team to ensure effective delivery of the national Safeguarders Panel in the best interest of children, by playing a key role in operational delivery and the continued development of this team. This work will contribute to the government’s ambitions for improvement across the Children’s Hearing system to ensure it is revised in the best interests of children.
You will be expected to be responsible for the management of key tasks within the operational business of the national Safeguarders Panel Team and lead on aspects of the development for safeguarders and the national Safeguarders Panel in accordance with the Practice Standards and the Performance Support and Monitoring Framework for safeguarders. As part of the senior team, you will play a key role in engaging with safeguarders; Scottish Government and other partners, including Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration and Children’s Hearings Scotland, Local Authorities.
This post will require some working out with normal office hours and some travel across Scotland.
Closing date: Monday 07 November 2016 at noon. It is anticipated that Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 14 November 2016.
