Sunflower Garden in Edinburgh provides vital and much needed support to children and young people affected by parental drug and/or alcohol use in their families. As a key partner in the newly commissioned service by Edinburgh City Council we contribute to providing holistic, integrated support to children, young people and their families across the city. Our focus is on building self-esteem and confidence and developing resilience in the children and young people so that they can go on to reach their full potential.

At the heart of this child-focused service are the ideas, care and commitment of our multidisciplinary team.  In this role you will assist with the management of the service, taking specific responsibility for student and volunteer staff. This will include managing staffing levels and client caseloads, while overseeing the clinical and administrative work.

Our team is close-knit and wholly supportive. That support is also there from senior management, enabling you to thrive in your role and provide the best care possible to children and their families. Quite simply, nothing gets in the way of us making sure that every child benefits from an excellent service.

Experience of working with children, families or substance misuse is important, as well as a professional qualification at diploma level in therapy or counselling. We’re also looking for proven management experience.

In return, you can look forward to ongoing training and development - not only so you can do a great job, but to help you build your career with us too. There’s also an excellent benefits package that includes an employer contributory pension and generous holiday allowance.

You are required to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This post is subject to PVG Scheme Membership.

Closing date: 30th October 2016.
