Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for a role that will support your development in the social housing sector?

With a proven track record of delivering much-needed homes across the country, our client is keen to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team for a site in Edinburgh.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

Dealing with tender stage subcontract and material enquiries.
Assisting with subcontract procurement, agreement, payment, and award.
Preparing valuations with clients, agreeing amounts for payment, and ensuring invoices are prepared and issued.
Re-measuring work using site measurement and measurement from drawings.
Informing sub-contractors of contract variations.
Dealing with contractual issues from a commercial perspective.
Assisting with reporting on contract performance via monthly cost/value reconciliations.
Agreeing client and sub-contract final accounts.
Preparing Surveying Reports for the Chief Surveyor.

To be shortlisted for this role we are looking for someone with the following:

Qualified to HND level (or equivalent) in quantity surveying.
Experienced in this field with a background in managing budgets and delivering similar services to a high standard.
An analytical approach with strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Excellent numeracy skills.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Adept in relevant computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
A full driving license is required.
