Allen Accountancy Recruitment becomes Scotland's first jobs agency for accountants
Alex Allen, formerly public practice recruitment expert at Glasgow independent recruiter Beck Cowan, has established Allen Accountancy Recruitment at an office in the Centrum Building in Glasgow's Queen Street.
The agency will provide support both to firms intending to recruit and to professionals considering a career change.
Allen said he has already secured a number of high-profile clients among Big Four, mid-tier and independent firms across Scotland.
One of their number, Richard Patterson, a corporate services partner at Robb Ferguson, said: "Alex has a thorough understanding and knowledge of the public practice accountancy market and has consistently unearthed quality candidates, even in times of shortage in the marketplace."
Allen moved to Scotland a decade ago and began his working career with HSBC bank before moving into recruitment.
He joined Beck Cowan in 2003 following a four-year spell with AEA Recruitment in Glasgow. Allen Accountancy Recruitment is operating across Central Scotland.
Allen said: "The main motivation behind setting up Allen Accountancy Recruitment was the desire to provide a real consultancy service to candidates and clients alike in a fast-paced and competitive market.
"It is imperative that candidates are given honest advice and access to the best vacancies on the market and the firms themselves are provided with a value-added service in which the best candidates for their vacancies are identified "So far the reaction I have received from both clients and candidates has been very good and the fees which the company has been generating are looking healthy."
