Financial services firm BNP Paribas is to create 370 jobs in Dundee and Glasgow, thanks to a Scottish Executive grant.
The company has been awarded a contingent Regional Selective Assistance Grant of up to £3.7 million over five years to fund its strategic expansion in Scotland.
Around a quarter of the new jobs will be in Dundee, the remainder in Glasgow, and they will cover a number of different roles and levels of seniority.
BNP Paribas’ UK Head Tony Solway said: “We are very pleased to accept this Regional Selective Assistance grant. We have long established relationships with asset managers in Scotland and anticipate strong growth in our business in the coming years. This grant will enable us to support this growth in our operations centres in Glasgow and Dundee, accessing the local markets which are rich in talent.”
Scottish Development International chief executive Martin Togneri said: “Scotland is now recognised as one of Europe’s leading financial centres and the remarkable expansion of the industry in Scotland over the last few years in particular illustrates that its appeal is growing all the time.
“We already have half of the world’s top 20 largest financial services companies with significant operations in Scotland, which is a credit to everyone working in the industry and the public and private sector organisations promoting Scotland and continuing to successfully compete against the best in the world.”
