Aberdeen oil and gas firm PD&MS creates 50 new jobs

Aberdeen-based PD&MS Energy, a Wilton Group company, is looking to grow its engineering workforce from 150 to 200 following this latest contract success and the prospect of further contract wins.
PD&MS Energy’s scope of work for TAQA Bratani includes a range of engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction services for the drilling refurbishment and reactivation programme of the client’s Eider and Cormorant Alpha platforms. The contract runs through to November 2014.
Simon Rio, managing director of PD&MS Energy, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract, which further strengthens our position at the very top end of this niche market. Our proven track record of delivering drilling facilities upgrades and reactivations projects in a safe and cost effective manner has led to this latest contract award, with another industry respected company”.
“This type of work is very much part of our plan to grow the business in 2012 and beyond. We will be looking to add 50 to 60 engineering personnel in the next year or so due to the increased demand for our services”.
PD&MS Energy delivers full project management, design and engineering support for platforms and rigs.
In the past year the company has added to its Aberdeen and Middlesbrough offices, by opening in Dundee, Great Yarmouth and Brazil.
The Wilton Group has three main business units - PD&MS Energy, Wilton Engineering Services (WESL) and Universal Coatings. Wilton Engineering occupies a 50-acre construction yard with large fabrication facilities and a 35-man design engineering office in Middlesbrough, which is also the location of Universal Coatings. In February, Wilton Group launched Wilton Dundee, a rig-upgrade and vessel-mobilisation business.
PD&MS Energy’s services include project design, design verification and management, structural, piping, mechanical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and electrical/instrumentation design, upgrade and modifications, inspection, auditing and engineering support to the drilling sector, as well as providing the same range of services to the oil and gas production and marine industries.
