Energy technology business Proserv to create 50 jobs across Aberdeenshire

ENERGY technology business Proserv is creating more than 130 jobs after winning several new contracts in the oil and gas sector.

Up to 50 of the posts will be based at the company's offices across Aberdeenshire in a move which will increase the Scottish workforce to around 290.

The rest of the jobs are based in England or outside the UK.

Turnover for 2011 is expected to have risen 17% from £96 million to £113m once accounts are audited and signed off. A further upswing of 20% is predicted in 2012 due to the firm's strong pipeline of work.

Last year five subsidiaries were consolidated under the Proserv banner and the company said it is reaping the benefits of the change in structure.

Chief executive David Lamont said: "Since the merger, we have seen signifi- cant growth in our business due to our increased capabilities and expertise, particularly in the drilling, production, subsea and decommissioning sectors.

"We forecast even stronger results for 2012, having secured a number of new contracts and as a result we will be building on our current global workforce of almost 800 people by a further 17% next year to support our current order book and strong sales pipeline.

"This reinforces our ambitious plans for future accelerated expansion and to meet demand for our enhanced portfolio of complementary products and services to clients globally.

"Our focus is to build on our current position, invest in recruitment and the training of our people and continue with the global promotion of our full product and service range into new and existing markets."

Proserv has its headquarters in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, but operates from 21 sites around the world.
