Behind the scenes with Assistant Project Manager, David Gunn…

“I joined RESPONSE as an agent in November 2005, not long after graduating from university.  To be honest, I thought the job would be a stop gap while I decided which career path to follow but I quickly found that there were lots of opportunities to progress within the company.

It wasn’t long before I was promoted to Team Manager, where my daily focus was to motivate my team to generate good quality sales opportunities while also managing regular communication with the client.

In February 2007, RESPONSE implemented new state-of-the-art software, NICE Perform, and I was given the opportunity to train as a Business Improvement Analyst tasked with ensuring that the system delivered maximum benefit to all staff.

This project gave me an insight into the work that goes on behind the scenes at RESPONSE and made me realise just how much I enjoyed the challenges of working across different departments.  Therefore, when the Professional Services team at RESPONSE advertised for an Assistant, I didn’t have to think twice!

What I love most about my role as Assistant Project Manager is its diversity. I have been involved in a whole host of projects… implementing new client operations, upgrading our internal attendance system, even the launch of our new flagship site, RESPONSE House. All projects require careful and controlled management to ensure that they are successfully completed on time.

There are many great things about working for RESPONSE. It is a fast moving, dynamic work place with an amazing variety of highly-skilled and interesting people. There are real opportunities for development and progression in a whole host of departments. I have made some great friends, learned a huge amount, and know I won’t get bored as I still have a huge amount of learning to do!”
