Counter Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Counter Assistant to join our team for Maternity Cover As a Counter Assistant, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the counter area. This job is for evenings from 4pm on weekdays AND weekends., Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare food items
- Upsell additional menu items or promotions to customers
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash register records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling of ingredients
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations

Food preparation: Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and ability to follow recipes
- Basic math skills: Ability to handle cash transactions and calculate change accurately
- Upselling: Ability to suggest additional menu items or promotions to customers
- Food safety: Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Culinary knowledge: Familiarity with different types of cuisine and menu items
- Helpfulness: Willingness to assist customers with their inquiries or concerns
- Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen experience: Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred
