Full Job Description

NHS Forth Valley is recruiting to its Data Protection team.  Based within the wider Information Governance Unit, this is a great opportunity for someone wishing to develop their skills in the field of information governance.  The post holder will work with a band of specialists to provide advice on data protection compliance to internal and external stakeholders as required to ensure NHS Forth Valley remains compliant with its obligations under data protection and associated information governance legislation.

The post holder will assess data processing activities, including potential security incidents, to ensure compliance with the organisations policies, procedures and guidance and support services and partners to operate in a safe and compliant manner.  As part of the Information Governance Unit, the successful candidate will be able to develop their skills in all areas of information governance, delivering training, and helping to develop processes and documentation to support organisational wide information governance maturity.

We are looking for someone with experience of interpreting and applying information governance legislation, who can demonstrate critical analysis skills and sound judgement.  The successful candidate will need to be able to present and explain complicated information in an accessible way.  A flexible approach to work, the ability to effectively manage a workload with competing demands, and the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post as this post will involve cross site working.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.
