Full Job Description

Base Location: Flexible UK, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading or Havant., As Head of Risk and Assurance for SSEs Renewables business, youll be accountable for leading and further developing the central Risk and Assurance team, and the service it provides to the Managing Director and Executive Committee of the SSE Renewables (SSER) business across the UK, and all international jurisdictions. Utilising your comprehensive assurance, risk management, and business improvement expertise, youll support the delivery of business objectives while ensuring all associated regulatory, legal and internal Group obligations are met in this dynamic, fast-growing business, focused on developing, constructing, owning and operating Renewables generation assets.

As part of this role, you will also lead the businesss mitigation of key business-wide risk areas, including acting as anti-financial crime officer for SSER and leading on information security and data privacy. Beyond the SSE Renewables business, you will work closely with Group functions such as Risk, Audit and Ethics & Compliance to influence the future direction of the Group wide risk and controls framework.

A detailed understanding of the operation of the system of internal control within a large and growing organisation

- Knowledge and awareness of the Regulatory and Legislative obligations relating to the Renewables industry.

- Extensive experience being actively involved in the management of risk and delivery of business-wide assurance at a senior level.

- A high degree of comfort in presenting to, influencing and negotiating with Senior leadership, including at Executive / Board level.

- An analytical mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner.
