As HSEQ Manager (Projects & Offshore Operations) you will play a key role in how we set and achieve our environmental and sustainability strategies, now and for future generations.

You will operate at a strategic level in conversation with senior management, while maintaining oversight, engagement, and collaboration with regional HSEQ teams.

You will also liaise with on and offshore vessel management who are responsible for our impressive fleet; some of the most modern, capable, and versatile vessels in our industry.

What does the role involve?

  • Ensure HSEQ vision and strategies are understood and aligned across regions.

  • Establish collaborative working relationships across the business and closely liaise with vessel and technical teams including Fleet Managers, Vessel Superintendent and marine personnel.

  • Support business area and leadership teams in implementing the Global Business Management System (BMS), Emergency Recovery and Crisis Management Plans.

  • Provide technical input to the BMS and business area HSEQ procedures.

  • Actively participate within the Management Team to provide them with the expertise and tools that will enable business process improvement.

  • Develop knowledge and resources to support management and business area initiatives.

  • Provide input to budgets and controlling costs for the function.

  • Develop HSEQ performance targets for business area.

  • Ensure correct incident investigation, capture learnings and track actions to completion.

  • Develop business area quality audit plan ensuring functions are aligned to the BMS and ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 Standards.

  • Compile and deliver reports, presentations, and training.

  • Establish strong working relationships with external industry and regulatory bodies, actively attending events and retaining current knowledge to impart to business.

    Degree level HSEQ qualification or significant relevant experience at management level.

  • Experience working in an operational organisation, preferrable within the marine industry.

  • Experience working in the subsea or offshore industry would be advantageous.

  • Conversant with HSEMS, legislative framework, audit methodology, multiple incident management methods, various risk management methods and delivering training.

  • Qualified and experienced Lead Auditor.

  • IT proficient across MS Office. Relevant experience of HSEQ management systems.

  • Demonstrates credibility and professionalism at all times.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, builds and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels across a multicultural global organisation.

  • Leadership and people management skills to convey, set and deliver performance goals and provide mentorship and development.

  • Accustomed to working with and presenting to senior management.

  • Ability to influence and negotiate, can constructively challenge and be challenged.

  • Ability to present and providing training and mentorship, adapting style to relevant audience.

  • Solutions focused, demonstrates initiative and ownership.

  • Effective planning and organising skills, accustomed to meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.

  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced 24/7 global business.

  • Committed to continuous improvement, ability to identify and implement improvements to efficiency and costs.

  • Progressive thinking, pro-actively seeks to develop own learning and awareness of regulatory change.

  • Ability to undertake reasonable UK and overseas travel to worksites and offices, as required.
