The Registered Nurses - Adult within the Primary Care Team deliver a variety of nurse lead Assessments and Interventions, including Medication Administration, Health Screening, Managing Medical Emergencies, Delivering Enhanced Care to a small case load, Managing Minor Injuries and Long Term Conditions Clinics, while working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary Prisoner Healthcare team of, General Practitioners, Mental Health and Substance Misuse Nursing Teams.  The team is lead by a Senior Charge Nurse who has responsibility for Primary Care Nursing Teams across all sites.

We are seeking experienced UK Registered Nurses who can display good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills that are committed to delivering high quality safe and effective patient centred care to this complex patient group within this unique setting. 

You must display good communication and interpersonal skills, be organised and have experience of working within a caring environment.  You will be committed to delivering high quality safe and effective patient centred care to this complex patient group within this unique setting.

 The post will be a rotational post; and you will be required to travel to other NHS Tayside prison establishments working traditional nursing shifts over a 7 day period however may be subject to change to meet the needs of the service as it evolves.

 You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register

Hours of work are: flexible

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
