Full Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is required to support and assist the inventory Team in the safe and efficient delivery of the stock auditing operation in line with agreed service level agreements and ensuring compliance to ASCO and client processes, procedures and safety rules. Duties include:

  • User of SAP (MM module) for Warehouse Inventory and Operations maintaining the control of material movements using the system.


  • Liaise with all internal and external customers to ensure all operational and other requirements are achieved.


  • Supports the setting of objectives and management of the Inventory and Receipts teams on the execution of their duties on a day-to-day basis.


  • Oversees and ensures the performance, administration and accuracy of the inventory counting process is delivered by the Service provider.


  • Co-ordinate and take a leading role with the implementation of stock checking activities at third party sites.


  • Investigate and reconcile (within authorised limits) all stock count discrepancies in line with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance.


  • On completion of all stock checking activity, ensure that all discrepancy investigations and supplementary actions are carried out to completion in accordance with client procedures relating to stock Management.


  • Ensure that all customs activity is executed in accordance with all related HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) legislation and guidance and in co-ordination with client Freight Forwarding / Customs agent.


  • Take a leading role in all HMRC audits and ensure any actions are completed within required timescales.


  • Administer the clients Freight Forwarding services, identifying best solution for safe, secure, and economical shipment of materials and equipment nationally and internationally.


  • Take a proactive and leading role in all client safety Initiatives and requirements.


  • Demonstrate an authoritative role by independently making decisions and supervising site personnel, only referring when necessary. Take the initiative in promoting new ideas, tackling relevant issues, and adding value wherever possible.


  • Co-ordinate client disposal process including any HMRC approvals as required.


  • Assume role of Warehouse Services Lead when incumbent is absent.


  • Take a leading role within the use of the client safety management systems and act as a focal point for site service provider. Ensure any accepted actions resulting from Incidents or anomalies are completed in a timely manner.

  • Desirable Qualifications/Competencies

  • Higher education with a strong experience in an energy industry warehousing or materials / inventory management environment.


  • Technical understanding of the SAP business process being both proficient and knowledgeable in the use of SAP (MM module). Understanding of Plant Maintenance (PM) module would be an advantage.


  • Demonstrates good supervisory skills to ensure the most efficient practices are maintained within the team.


  • Experience and knowledge of HMRC and Freight Forwarding processes.


  • Knowledge / understanding of current legislation pertaining to Environmental Protection, Health & Safety at Work and Waste Management.

    A current Immigration Status Document containing a photograph issued by the Home Office to the holder with a valid endorsement indicating that the named person may stay in the UK, and is allowed to do the type of work in question, together with an official document giving the person's permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency or a previous employer
