Lockerbie Academy is a 800+ student school situated in the Annandale and Eskdale district of Dumfries and Galloway.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher Additional Support for Learning to join our ASN teaching team for 1FTE up to August 2025.

You should have a passion for learning, with vision to help to continue take the school forward. The school prides itself in that it provides a stable, caring and purposeful learning atmosphere in which all students have the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential. The successful candidate will work with the school to identify and assess barriers to learning, and in partnership with appropriate practitioners and parents, address these needs through the delivery of a relevant curriculum.

This position may be suitable for a Secondment, Line Management approval should be sought before applying for the position.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
