We support the internal IT requirements of the organisation. We work inclusively and collaboratively across our London and Edinburgh offices where the IT team are positioned to support our four main UK offices in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast, as well as our flexible and home-working members of staff.

The role

Working within the IT team at Energy Saving Trust, the IT Admin will assist the IT Service Desk manager with daily administrative tasks vital to the smooth running of the department.

The ideal candidate will also act to support other members of the IT team and will work cross-department with other parts of the organization to find efficient, smooth ways of delivering on our business requirements that allow for accuracy and ease of working.

The role will also act as a point of contact for the business for technical matters, which will include answering the phone and logging tickets in our ServiceDesk system. This requires an understanding of how to communicate with different stakeholders and gather requirements.

What you’ll do

• Post: dealing with any physical post or email correspondence for the department, answering, or liaising with the department members or management to answer all enquiries.

• Licensing administration and reporting.

• Purchase order processing.

• Answering the phone and ServiceDesk ticket logging.

• Account creation / management.

• Asset management, including the maintenance of the asset management database, ensuring that records are updated and remain certification compliant.

• Other general administrative tasks, including but not limited to assisting with the purchasing and arranging of consumables, assisting other technicians when they require it, and helping with on-premises setups (such as AV equipment).

What you’ll bring

• Knowledge of IT systems and basic IT literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office, Teams, and similar business tools.

• A keen interest in learning to develop both IT and non-IT skills within the role.

• Organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail, as well as time management.

• Some experience with licensing; the role will involve license management and asset management and liaising with our Finance department to ensure that records are accurate and traceable.

• Experience of invoice processing and using financial software.

• The ability to work with other departments, co-ordinate, and develop working relationships.

• Experience of working in a previous IT department is advantageous but ability and enthusiasm are just as important.
