An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 community mental health nurse to join our older adult community mental health In support of our core purpose of Working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Morayshire we are committed to a culture that is Caring, Safe and Respectful. You will be required to work collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way.

As a registered Mental Health Nurse, on Part 3 of the NMC Register, you will be an integral member of Community Mental Health Team working as a post diagnostic support worker. You will be working alongside the band 5 nurses and band 3 health care support worker providing assessment, care, support and treatment interventions to patients and carers with organic and functional mental health problems.

As a mental health nurse you will join a service that is continually developing to meet the needs of our client group. You will have experience of team working, problem solving, flexibility, continuing professional development and change management. You will have day to day responsibility of managing your workload and a commitment to partnership working with a range of stakeholders.

You will be educated to degree level or have a relevant post graduate qualification and experience relevant to job purpose. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a well-developed knowledge of care of older people with mental health problems and appropriate interventions coupled with sound organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative are essential for this post. A car owner / driver are essential.
