It’s important to ask questions about professional development. It shows that you have ambition.

What training is available?

What opportunities are there to progress within the company?

Ask some questions to the interviewer. It’s a good way to build rapport.

How long have you been with the company?

What is your favourite part of your job?

Ask a little more about the team. It’s the people you’re going to be working with day in and day out.

Can you tell me a little about the team I’d be working in?

What other teams would I be working closely with?

Culture – this is key when deciding if you want to work for a company. Is it a laid back office or more corporate? Does it fit your personality and is this an environment you’ll flourish in?

What is the company culture like?

Does the team spend time together outside of the office? (translated to ‘do you all go for a drink on a Friday)
