Reap the richest rewards

employee perksAccording to mindful medics, the UK workforce is slowly but surely turning into a sack of desk potatoes.

This lack of motivation from employees is a worry for many businesses, who are seeing productivity levels dropping.

Fortunately, HR reward specialists exist in order to provide workers with perks and reward schemes to keep them on their toes and the company wheels turning.

Company benefits are also what attract people to jobs in the first place, with approximately one in three candidates admitting it’s a big part of the decision process when deciding where to work.

Many firms offer perks such as gym memberships, product discounts and sometimes company cars, but there are others that really go the extra mile when it comes to rewarding staff.

They’ve realised if you have happy employees, you have happy customers and clients.

Here are some of the innovative incentives HR departments from around the world are implementing.

Airbnb

The online hospitality service offers employees roughly £1500 each year to go off and travel the world. The company offers other benefits, too, which help it rank highly on lists of best workplaces every year.

Huddle

In the past, the cloud-based software company has offered some of the most generous rewards in the form of a Huddle Cuddle, which is a starting bonus of £5000 and an extra gift of £500 a year. If that’s not enough, it provides free daily breakfast and Friday drinks.

Skyscanner

Not only does this firm offer employees sought-after flexible working hours, it also provides multi-purpose relaxation rooms – and has negotiated a deal with local pubs and beauty salons to give staff discounts.

Opus Professional Services

The recruitment firm acquired a Tuscan villa in Italy, which employees can book free of charge any time of the year. Not only this, but some of their awards include trips to New York and Las Vegas.

Visualsoft

Whereas most of us are used to the standard 28 days of holiday a year, Visualsoft is miles ahead by offering staff unlimited paid holidays and flexi-hours, as long as they reach all their target goals. When you do turn up to the office, you’ll be greeted by free breakfast, protein shakes . . . and even beer on tap.
