Dundonald House is a warm, friendly, caring award winning Home that specialises in promoting small group living with the Home being divided into small units with no more than 8/10 service users in a lounge or dining area. The home has two buildings set in extensive landscaped grounds and gardens. Dundonald New House opened in January 2012 and provides accommodation for 42 service users, with the existing home providing accommodation for up to 48 service users. Will you keep in touch with me throughout application process?

Yes, we will contact you either by e mail or telephone to inform you if you have successfully progressed to the next stage of selection process.

If offered a position at Dundonald House, what would happen next?
Once we have received satisfactory references and PVG record for you, we will contact you to organise an induction period, where you will receive induction pack, initial staff training to include moving & handling and dementia skilled practice, you will shadow senior staff for induction period who will be happy to offer you support in your new role. You will at that time also receive staff uniform with name badge.
In position, can you support me to gain further qualifications?
Absolutely, we can offer support to help you gain SVQ/HNC or other relevant qualification while in post. We have regular visits to the home by local college/university tutors, and senior staff are always on hand to offer guidance and support. We can also give guidance on financial discounts/offers available to help with funding.
Do you offer progression?
Yes, as a care assistant there can be progression towards senior carer's post if you meet criteria. As a staff nurse there is also progression towards charge nurse post.
Do I get holidays and are they paid?
Yes of course, you get an annual holiday entitlement and this is paid, information is provided with induction pack and will be confirmed in your contract.
