Profile
The University of Strathclyde is a leading international technological university based in the centre of Glasgow. Inspired by our founding principle as ‘a place of useful learning’, our mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of our students, to society and to the world.
We are home to over 3,500 staff and 30,000 students from more than 140 countries, and our alumni community carry with them our global outlook throughout their careers in business, healthcare, academia, industry, politics, and the media.
Research is of central importance in everything we do. It informs our teaching and helps us to make a difference to business, industry, and society as a whole. The excellence of our research is evidenced by the growth in range and scale of our research collaborations and by our performance in the Research Excellence Framework 2021 where almost 90% was rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
Strathclyde is a multi-award-winning university. We are delighted to be the only University to have won the Times Higher Education University of the Year award twice (2012 and 2019). Over the years we've been recognised across a variety of categories at the Times Higher Education awards. These include the coveted Business School of the Year and Workplace of the Year.
Our people are our greatest asset. We recruit global talent for a wide range of positions across our four faculties and professional services, and we recognise and reward people for work that is bold, ambitious, people-orientated, collaborative, and innovative. As a socially progressive University, we are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and we offer staff a wide range of outstanding benefits that include financial rewards, family friendly and wellbeing benefits and career development opportunities.
