The remit of this post is to support the waiting list manager with the management of the Diagnostic waiting list ensuring achievement of national and local targets set by the Scottish Government, be responsible for the safe and timely booking of the patient for the Diagnostic Procedure.

Responsible for the management of the waiting list co-ordinators (21 wte) and waiting list assistants (3 wte) and ensuring the provision of an effective administrative service in relation to Waiting List management.  The post holder has no budget responsibility but needs to be aware of the resources available and the need to work within the financial envelope.

To provide an efficient booking service for the patient to support the patient journey.  To manage referrals to external hospitals providing additional capacity in line with agreed protocols.  Prompt and accurate input of patient details to the Diagnostic waiting lists and booking of patient. Ensure confirmation of booking to reduce DNA rate and maximize Out Patient theatre utilisation. Ability to demonstrate excellent team working skills. Ability to demonstrate integrity sound judgement when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
