Full Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Technical Support Officer to join the Nuclear New Build (NNB) programme support and finance team. The successful candidate will work in a small, dispersed team, providing administrative support to a wider programme of work. Currently, that includes regulating the environmental aspects for the development and construction of Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C nuclear power stations.

You will be working to support and enable the smooth running of the wider programme. As a technical support officer, you will support the programme by:

-Supporting internal and external meetings, ensuring meetings are scheduled, with all information accurately tracked.
-Providing a secretariat role at key Programme / Project meetings; ensuring key actions, contact reports and decisions are recorded, ensuring all papers and briefing packs are prepared.
-Managing our information by processing and storing information across various platforms including Share Point, in accordance with EA Data policies.
-Inputting and analysis of data, maintaining project Dashboards, Risk Registers, Progress Reports.
-Assisting with production of management information from various systems, including time recording, finance and risk reporting.

This is a key role which contributes towards goal 7 of Defra's Environment Improvement Plan (EIP); mitigating and adapting to climate change.

The team

The NNB Programme Support and Finance Team is a small team of 4 people, that sits in a larger programme management team of 10 people.

Although geographically dispersed across the country; we promote collaboration and inclusivity in all that we do to ensure timely achievement of our objectives.

We are part of the Energy, Radioactive Substances and Process Industry (ERSPI) function within the Environment & Business (E&B) Directorate.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who can work well, either on their own or as part of a team.

The successful candidate should have experience of working in a busy environment and be able to demonstrate an ability to deliver results whilst working at pace, the need for excellent organisation skills is therefore essential.

Nuclear New Build is a high-profile work area that interfaces with a broad range of internal and external customer and stakeholders' groups, so strong communication skills, both written and verbal are required.

The nature of our work requires a strong working knowledge of records management principles and sound data & information management skills.

The Programme support & finance team utilise multiple IT systems, therefore fluency of IT skills encompassing MS Office 365 applications will be essential.
