Full Job Description

My client, a fantastic provider of IT Services, are looking to take on a 3rd Line Systems Engineer to join their busy team on a full time permanent basis in Aberdeen.


This role is critical to the business, with a focus on 3rd line support and cloud technologies, so strong Azure experience is highly advantageous to be considered.


Duties and responsibilities include:


·      Design, implement, and manage Azure-based solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

·      Monitor and maintain Azure resources, including VMs, storage, networking, and databases.

·      Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services and infrastructure.

·      Azure Virtual network and infrastructure creation and management

·      Azure Virtual machine configuration and management

·      Understand Azure point to site and site to site VPN

·      Azure Virtual Desktop configuration and management inclusive of FSlogix and application groups.

·      Storage account creation and management

·      Azure Files configuration and management inclusive of identity source and RBAC and NTFS permission setup.

·      Azure Backup configuration

·      Understanding of NSGs

·      Logic app and Function app configuration

·      Understanding of Azure advisor and the tools available.

·      Understanding of Log analytics, health and metric monitoring

·      Understanding of Azure Policy

·      Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services

·      ConnectWise manage usage - Entry, update of customer tickets.

·      NinjaOne RMM usage

·      ConnectWise ScreenConnect usage

·      Operational risk flagging/review with technical operations manager

·      Remediation planning for customer issues

·      Accurate time management and ticket updates

·      Personal drive for continuing improvement

·      Customer site visits

·      Acquiring supplier quotations

·      Assisting customers with incident resolution

·      Pre-sales tech support for quotations - sales/pricing queries

·      Incident resolution and project implementation

·      Escalation point for 1st/2nd line engineers

·      Exclaimer administration

·      SSL administration

·      TOIL submissions for Flex-Fridays in e-days

·      Customer interaction, both remotely and onsite.

·      On call support for customers with 24/7 support contracts through the managed rota

·      Switch administration

·      Access point administration

·      Firewall administration
