Accountant

We are working with a growing business in Aberdeen who are looking to recruit an experienced finance professional to take ownership of their day-to-day finance operations.

This is a hands-on role within a small finance team, offering the opportunity to manage a varied workload, prepare monthly management accounts and improve processes across the finance function. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, taking responsibility for tasks from start to finish and working closely with senior management.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the purchase and sales ledgers, including invoicing, payments and credit control.
• Preparing monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinating payroll with external providers across multiple locations.
• Monitoring cash flow, aged debt and supplier balances.
• Supporting month-end, year-end and audit requirements.
• Ensuring financial controls, compliance and reporting deadlines are maintained.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and make better use of finance systems and automation.

This role suits someone with strong experience managing purchase and sales ledgers, preparing monthly management accounts and coordinating outsourced payroll. You will have excellent Excel skills, confidence using cloud-based accounting systems and a proactive, organised approach.
