Accounts Assistant

We are working with an established business who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

This is a varied, hands-on role within a busy finance department, offering exposure to a broad range of accounting duties. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, working closely with colleagues across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase invoices, matching orders and chasing approvals.
• Completing supplier statement reconciliations and handling supplier queries.
• Maintaining supplier records and supporting new supplier onboarding.
• Assisting with sales invoicing, cash receipts and supplier payments.
• Processing purchase orders and supporting operational teams.
• Providing cover for timesheets and liaising with external payroll providers.
• Assisting with bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Supporting credit control, including statements and payment reminders.
• Processing staff expenses and providing general finance support.

Candidates will have previous experience working within a busy finance department, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. You will be comfortable working to deadlines, managing competing priorities and communicating confidently with colleagues and suppliers. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential. Experience using Sage 200 Professional would be advantageous, as would previous experience within the Oil & Gas sector.

The role is office-based, working 8am–5pm, with some flexibility available.
