Administrative Assistant (Transportation)

Harbour Authority Building, Scapa

17.5 hours per week

Permanent

£30,060 - £30,662 pro rata

£16.47 - £16.80 per hour

The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance

You will be reporting to Team Manager Operational Support, Marine Services and Transportation.

The current working pattern is 1000-1300 Monday – Thursday and 1000-1600 on a Friday but this could be negotiable, however the longer day on a Friday would be preferable. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.

The purpose of this role is to provide high standard general administrative and business support. The successful candidate will support the Team Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of airfields and transportation administration specifically. The postholder must be organised, able to work on your own initiative and prioritise work to cope with tight deadlines.

The role will be responsible for processing the airfields timesheets, checking them for accuracy and preparing the monthly spreadsheet in advance of approval by the Airfield Superintendent. The successful candidate will assist in the administration of the airfields specific ‘Smart PPR’ system, handling requests as necessary.

The post holder will also be involved in the processing of bus, ferry and air timetables and will assist with local concessionary travel queries and processing of applications when required.

Excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills are essential.
