Are you passionate about helping people and delivering excellent customer service? We are looking for a motivated and organised Allocations Assistant to join our Housing Allocations Team.

In this rewarding role, you will support customers through every stage of the housing application process, providing advice on housing options, responding to enquiries, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records in line with legislation and Council policies. You will work closely with a range of internal teams and external partners to ensure applicants receive a high-quality, responsive service.

We're looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a genuine commitment to customer care. You should be confident using Microsoft 365 applications, able to manage competing priorities, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and a valid driving licence are essential. Experience of working within social housing, a CIH qualification, and knowledge of housing management systems such as Northgate would be beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within Housing Services while making a real difference to individuals and families seeking suitable housing. If you're looking for a varied and meaningful role, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.

If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age (restrictions apply to Modern Apprenticeships), disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
