About this role: 

We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team and play a key role in transforming how data is managed, modelled and used across SPT. As we deliver our Data Strategy and establish a modern cloud-based data platform, you will help build trusted, scalable data products that support decision-making across the organisation.

Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts and technical teams, you will develop and maintain data pipelines, data models and semantic layers that turn complex data into reliable, accessible information. You will help establish modern engineering practices, improve data quality and governance, and support the delivery of strategic initiatives that will shape the future of transport across the west of Scotland.

About You

You will have experience working with modern data platforms and a strong understanding of data modelling, transformation and integration principles. You’ll be comfortable developing data pipelines and analytical solutions using tools such as SQL and cloud-based technologies, with an appreciation of data governance, quality and security requirements.

We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with a collaborative approach. You will be able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into robust data solutions.

Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by the opportunity to help establish a data-driven culture and contribute to some of Scotland’s most significant and transformative public transport programmes.

Full time hours will be 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post.

Whilst you will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, SPT operate a hybrid working pattern which allows 40% home working (i.e. 2 days per week Monday to Friday).
