Location: Inverness, Scotland


Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm


Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience



Team Overview


The Services & Maintenance team provides ongoing support and upkeep for installed mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and longevity. They deliver scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs, working closely with clients to minimise downtime and extend asset life. This department plays a vital role in sustaining customer satisfaction and protecting the long-term value of our solutions.



Role Overview


Are you looking to start a hands-on engineering career in the growing renewable energy sector? We are looking for a motivated and practical individual to join our team in Inverness as an Apprentice Biomass Field Service Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining real-world engineering experience alongside a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

What You Would Ideally Have (continued)



  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or willingness to work towards them.

  • Full UK driving license or commitment to obtain one.

  • Willingness to travel to various sites.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

  • Pass Mark in BESA aptitude test.

  • Assisting with mechanical installations such as pipework, pumps, valves, and associated equipment.

  • Supporting the servicing and maintenance of biomass boilers, fuel feed systems, and associated plant.

  • Helping with upgrade and improvement works.

  • Learning to diagnose faults and assist with repairs.

  • Taking part in inspections and preventative maintenance.

  • Supporting commissioning of new and upgraded biomass systems.

  • Recording works using company Fieldmotion software on an iPad.

  • Working safely in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
