Full Job Description

Newly qualified and wondering where the best place is to properly start your career?

We’re working with an established Scottish architectural practice looking to appoint an Architect (newly qualified up to around 2 years post qualification experience) to join their team in Glasgow.

This is a role for someone who wants more than just a title change after qualification. It’s for someone who wants to build a genuine career with meaningful projects, strong mentorship, and the chance to become a well rounded architect early on.

The practice itself has an excellent reputation in the Scottish market. Well established, design conscious and highly respected, they have built a strong portfolio across residential, regeneration, retrofit, conservation and wider community focused projects. Their work is thoughtful, sustainable and commercially grounded - architecture with purpose, not architecture for show.

What makes this opportunity stand out is the level of exposure available.

This is not the sort of environment where you’ll spend the next two years tucked away producing isolated drawing packages or working on one tiny piece of a much larger machine. You’ll be involved.

Depending on your level, you can expect exposure across live project stages including design development, planning submissions, technical detailing, consultant coordination, client meetings and site involvement. You’ll work alongside experienced senior architects and associates who are invested in developing people, while also being given the space to take ownership and grow your own confidence.

The project mix is broad, with particular strength in large scale housing, placemaking, regeneration, retrofit and sustainable design. That means real world complexity, meaningful technical learning and projects that genuinely add weight to your CV.

Importantly, this is also a business that understands architecture is a long game. They’ve built a studio culture around quality, collaboration and sensible working practices. There is genuine investment in staff, support with development, and a working environment where people tend to stay because they enjoy the work and the people around them.

We’re keen to speak with Architects who are newly qualified through to around 2 years post Part III / ARB registration, ideally with good all-round project exposure (large scale resi experience is particularly attractive) and strong communication skills. Revit experience would be highly advantageous, though strong technical capability and the right attitude are equally important.

You might currently be in a larger practice where you feel like a small cog. Or perhaps you qualified recently and want a first move that gives you stronger mentorship, broader exposure and clearer progression.

Either way, this is the kind of role that can quietly shape the next five years of your career in all the right ways.

A strong salary is on offer alongside benefits, flexibility and the chance to join a genuinely respected team doing good work across Scotland.

If you’re looking for a practice where you can learn quickly, contribute meaningfully and become a better architect this is well worth a conversation.
