Full Job Description

A lot of Architectural Technologist opportunities talk about “exciting projects” and “great culture”. The reality is that people usually move for something much more practical: better projects, stronger leadership, more variety, genuine progression and somewhere they can actually see themselves staying long term.

This opportunity offers exactly that.

They are one of Scotland’s most established and respected architectural practices, with a strong reputation built over decades and a portfolio that continues to evolve. Rather than sitting within a single niche sector, they operate across a diverse range of work including commercial developments, workplace environments, industrial projects, residential schemes, specialist buildings and large-scale developments. That diversity creates a stronger pipeline of work and, importantly, gives people the chance to broaden their experience rather than becoming pigeonholed.

They are looking to bring an Architectural Technologist into their Glasgow team. This role would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture and takes real satisfaction from seeing projects progress beyond concept stages and become something tangible.

You will be involved in the production and coordination of technical information, working closely with architects, consultants and wider project teams to deliver high-quality schemes from design development through to delivery. They are looking for somebody who enjoys problem solving and someone who can confidently contribute technical knowledge and practical thinking throughout the life of a project.

Strong Revit skills are important for this position, alongside good technical understanding and knowledge of current regulations and construction methods. Previous experience delivering projects through technical and construction stages would be highly beneficial, although they are ultimately interested in finding people with the right attitude and mindset as much as anything else.

One of the things that repeatedly stands out about this practice is retention. Recruitment often gives a good insight into how companies really operate because people tend to be very quick to share negative experiences and much slower to talk about positive ones. The feedback surrounding this business is consistently strong. People stay, people progress and people often speak highly of the support and environment they experience once they join.

They are large enough to offer significant projects, clear progression opportunities and long-term career development, but still maintain an environment where individuals are recognised rather than simply becoming another name on an organisational chart.

For somebody who enjoys technical delivery, wants exposure to varied projects and is looking for a business where there is genuine opportunity to develop over time, this is a chance to join a practice with a reputation that has been built through consistency rather than noise.
