Full Job Description

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department by managing daily accounting tasks with various tasks, including but not limited to processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and preparing reports. This position requires a commitment to maintaining accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.,

  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Process client weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls and pensions.

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT returns and personal tax returns.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Assist with the preparation of client financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries.

    At least 2 years proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.

  • Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency with accounting and bookkeeping software (IRIS, Xero, etc.), and excellent knowledge of MS Office.

  • Excellent with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen, possessing a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • BSc/Ba in accounting, business, finance, or relevant field.

  • Working towards final stage of professional exams with ICAS, ACCA or CIMA, preferred., Bachelor's (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • accounting: 2 years (required)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • professional membership to ACCA, ICAS OR CIMA, or equivalent (preferred)
