Assistant Accountant

P&L Recruitment are working exclusively for our long-standing client who are based in North Lanarkshire to recruit a full-time permanent Assistant Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is a stand-alone Finance role reporting to the Managing Director, where you will be instrumental in ensuring the day to day finance duties in the company. This role would suit an ambitious candidate who is keen to progress to Accountant level.

The main duties:

• Bookkeeping duties
• Reconciling company credit card statements
• Raise purchase orders
• Monitor procurement schedules to support project delivery
• Accounts payable & Invoicing
• Upload invoices to Sage and match the Purchase orders and proof of delivery
• Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve invoice queries
• Prepare and issue payment runs on a weekly basis
• Collate figures for payroll and send spreadsheet to payroll team
• Oversee the office
• General administration duties

The main requirements:

• Previous accounts assistant experience
• Be able to take accounts to trial balance
• Sage experience
• Payroll experience
• Ambitious and willingness to progress
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Able to work independently while supporting the wider team
