Assistant Housing Officer

Hays is delighted to be working with an established Housing Association to recruit an Assistant Housing Services Officer to join their Housing Services team on a temporary basis until 18/12/2026.This is a varied role supporting Housing Services Officers with the delivery of a high-quality, generic housing management service. The successful candidate will gain exposure across key areas including allocations, rent arrears, tenancy sustainment, tenancy management, anti-social behaviour, estate management and tenant engagement.
Your new role

• Supporting the allocations process, including housing applications, offers, viewings, new tenant sign-ups and tenancy terminations.
• Assisting with rent arrears recovery, Universal Credit queries and tenant payment arrangements.
• Supporting tenancy sustainment through visits, referrals and access to appropriate advice services.
• Managing tenancy matters, including neighbour disputes, anti-social behaviour and changes to tenancies.
• Supporting estate management and addressing environmental or tenancy-related issues.
• Encouraging tenant participation and engagement, including supporting tenant groups and digital engagement.
• Providing housing advice and contributing to performance reporting.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll ideally have experience within social housing or a housing-related environment, with strong customer service and communication skills. Experience across housing management, allocations, arrears or tenancy management would be particularly relevant.
What you'll get in return
Grade 6 hourly equivalent
Contract until 18th Dec 2026.
