Peace Recruitment is working with a well-established consultancy that continues to deliver urban transport and active travel schemes for local authorities. They’re looking to appoint an experienced Associate / Associate Director to strengthen their team.
This is a role where you’ll be trusted to lead schemes, build long-term relationships with local authority clients and play a key part in how the team grows.
Whether your background is in active travel, urban transport, highways, public realm or wider local authority programmes, we’d like to hear from you.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of schemes from early stages through to completion, acting as the main point of contact for your clients and responsible for programme, cost, quality and risk.
You’ll work closely with local authorities, elected members, communities, consultants and contractors, leading multidisciplinary teams on schemes that make a real difference to how people move around their towns and cities.
Alongside delivery, you’ll mentor junior team members, contribute to business development and help shape future growth within the business.

- Building trusted relationships with local authority clients and becoming their go-to advisor.
- Managing stakeholders, including senior officers, elected members and the community.
- Leading project teams and coordinating consultants and contractors.
- Managing project risks, budgets, programmes and reporting.
- Preparing and presenting reports to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting bids, proposals and business development.
- Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team.
About You
You’ll already have experience delivering transport schemes in a consultancy or client-side environment and be comfortable owning a programme and managing client expectations.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- A strong track record delivering urban transport and active travel schemes.
- Experience working with local authorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage project finances.
- The confidence to make decisions and stand behind them.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Professional membership such as MRICS, MAPM, MCIHT or MICE would be advantageous
What’s On Offer
- Salary up to £80,000 DOE.
- Car allowance
- A varied portfolio of urban transport and active travel schemes.
- Genuine opportunities for career progression.
- [Hybrid or flexible working, confirm split.]
- Pension & bonus
- Ongoing professional development and support towards your career goals.
