Role Title: Associate Investment Manager Division: RIM Location: Glasgow Contract: Permanent About the Role In this role you will support the Wealth & Investment team in managing client portfolios and delivering exceptional client service. Develop advanced investment knowledge, technical skills, and commercial acumen. Play an active role in business development, building networks, and contributing to the firm's growth. This role builds on the foundation established as a Trainee, with increasing responsibility and autonomy, and prepares the individual for progression to Investment Manager and beyond. What you'll be responsible for
- Assist in managing client portfolios and lifecycle processes under supervision.
- Ensure suitability through real-time client engagement. Understand investment objectives to seek good client outcomes.
- Proactively engage with clients and intermediaries, resolving issues and enhancing client experience.
- Collaborate with Financial Planners, IFAs and other Rathbones services to deliver holistic outcomes. Investment skills and technical development
- Conduct investment research and contribute to team discussions.
- Assist with asset allocation, management of portfolios and ensuring they are managed to mandate.
- Progress awareness and knowledge of Financial Planning, helping to identify potential areas for referral.
- Improve team technological capability, being prepared to develop and share expertise. About you
- Clear understanding and articulation of Rathbones proposition, investment process and Research capabilities.
- Proficiency in relevant IT systems with strong MS Excel skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
- Awareness of regulatory environment and compliance standards.
- Client-centric and commercially aware.
- Proactive, collaborative, and accountable. Demonstrates integrity, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- Experience in financial services, investment, or client-facing roles.
- Exposure to portfolio management, suitability reviews, and client reporting.
- Familiarity with business development activities and relationship management.
- Experience with Python is desirable, but not essential.
- Able to work to deadlines with strong time-management skills and prioritise workload effectively.
