Stantec is seeking a Building Structural Technician to join our dynamic Building Engineering team in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality technical solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
About the Role
As a Structural Technician, you will be at the heart of our project delivery, producing high-quality technical drawings, models and documentation whilst assisting with mentoring of Apprentice and Trainee Technicians. Reporting directly to Senior Technicians you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all technical outputs., Project Delivery: Produce 2D/3D models, drawings, and schedules independently for a range of engineering projects. Understand and communicate health and safety implications related to our design, and advise the team on potential risks.
Collaborate and Coordinate: Work closely with internal and external design professionals to coordinate technical models and documentation control and ensure seamless coordination throughout all project phases.
Develop Practical Solutions: Undertake engineering inspections to compare construction works against design, report any discrepancies and assisting engineers in structural inspections and reports. Apply an understanding of buildability and practical engineering solutions to projects.
Drive Innovation: Contribute to internal task groups to improve workflows, share knowledge, and support efforts to enhance technical standards and efficiency across the business.
What You'll Bring
A relevant HND/Degree or minimum of 4 years of experience as a Structural Technician
Passion to deliver accurate and high-quality technical drawings, models and schedules to support project success.
Strong understanding of project stages, health and safety implications, and quality assurance procedures
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of working effectively with diverse project teams and stakeholders
Engage with learning opportunities, including mentoring from senior team members, and develop competencies towards EngTech qualification.
